I can still hear the “put-put-put” of the Monet Goyon that once belonged to my great-grandfather. I can picture my dad kicking the starter two or three times before the ancient motorcycle would putter to life. I remember my dad teaching me how to drive it up and down the road in front of his apartment complex. This motorcycle first belonged to my great-grandfather shortly after World War II. He worked two jobs, including delivering the morning paper around town. For the longest time, he rode his bicycle to make his deliveries. Eventually, he invested in a 1952 125cc Monet Goyon. The French motorcycle was small but effective. Later, the motorcycle was passed down to his youngest son, my grandfather....
